Imagine-Japan

Imagine,
we can't .
Not knowing,
powerless,
desperation,
agony.
They embraced,
as they found each other again.
A moment,
an hour,
a day,
swiftly changed their life.
Life fragile,
fleeting.
We watched breathless,
as they came together,
with gratitude
and joy.

  1. I am so glad you focused on the ones who found each other and embraced. It helped me remember there are some miracles amid the tragedy.
    Beautiful wording. :)

  3. Beautiful poem. That feeling of finding each other again, of having someone's hand to hold amid such destruction ... just thinking of it makes my eyes water.

  7. The only way through such a tragedy, I think, is to believe that there surely must be gratitude and joy happening alongside the sorrow and pain. Or at least we can have hope that the joy will again prevail, with time.

  8. Stacia, it's so difficult. I took comfort in those that survived and found their loved ones.

  9. They say life changes in a moment. I can't imagine how many people that's true of this week in Japan. I like your positive outlook and the way you focus on hope instead of despair.
