Shadows

Stories are written in the margins
of life,
on broken wings,
on calloused fingers.
Love breathes oxygen there.
Life exists
where black and white
transform into hues of grey.
Where dreams are tasted
but not lived.
Truth is questioned,
loyalty is tested,
shadows grow wings
abandoning the darkness behind.

  3. Sometimes, the bigger story in life is written in the margins. Tis, sad when dreams are tasted, but not lived.

  4. I really love this truth.....we live our true lives and learn our lessons in the shadows.....that is where the wisdom resides.

  18. The first sentence of the poem took my breath away, Ayala. Such a description of life. I worked a lot with the elderly as a nurse (and now here I am, one of them). I often have thought of how our bodies bear the marks of our journey.

  21. Life is such a confusing mixture of impulse and influence. So hard to trace the pedigree of truth and dreams.

So much wonder extended yet one may be left by the wayside. The world can be offering lots of challenges to balance the unfairness! Rightly so ayala!
