Beloved

If I forget you,
let death carry me on her shoulders.
If I forget you
the walls of my heart
would be empty,
the sounds of my soul
would be silent.
If I forget you
there is no reason to live,
you are the heartbeat,
you are the flame of my soul.

  18. Beautifully expressed, Ayala. I'm reading a book called "unbroken" about a man who was a POW in WWII, and this poem makes me think of his family's faith and love for him.

  19. There is beauty in this. But I hope that love lost would not take away all your reason to live.
