Doubt is a poison
that is a storm in your soul.
Clarity is the treasure that you seek.
Close your eyes,
free your mind,
free your soul.
Doubts no longer
chain you.
Do not surrender to the noise in your head
let your thoughts dance,
let your thoughts create,
let them just be.
i understand the thrust of your poem...i do think doubt can be not necessarily a bad thing...i may be a bit odd in that but...but i understand there are certain things where clarity makes for a good foundation...just dont want us to ever get away from asking questions...
ReplyDeleteOh boy, the noise in your head. It's just always there, isn't it. Clacking away, chipping at your spirit. What I wouldn't do for a clear head...
ReplyDeletefaith is the substance of things hoped for... yet i agree with brian too, that the freedom to ask questions is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteClarity would be nice but it's not often attainable. Doubt? I suppose it gets a bad rap though I have more familiarity with it than certainty. Doubt, I'd like to think, is the first step to clarity.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Kitch. If I could quiet the noises in my head, just for a moment, I imagine it would be bliss. But, no doubt, they'd be back, and maybe there's a reason for them ... other than depriving me of sleep, I mean!
ReplyDeleteBrian, asking the questions is good ... My thoughts were more on being paralyzed by doubts ....smiles
ReplyDeletekitch, the noise is like a background noise isn't it?
ReplyDeleteLeslie, I agree too... :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteDoubt the first step to clarity-well said, Belinda.
ReplyDeleteStacia, those noises...quieting them is bliss,isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mama Zen :)
ReplyDeleteNice. I believe doubt has to come before you can know clarity. As uncomfortable as it is, it is necessary.
ReplyDeleteRudri, it is a part of the process.
