I Am Enough

The light does not wish to be
darkness.
The Finch does not wish to be
an Eagle.
The thorn does not ask to
be the rose.
The sunrise does not wish to be
the sunset.
The lake does not wish to be
 an ocean.
The sun does not wish to be the
 moon.
Neither do I wish to be anyone
but
 myself.

Meet us here http://dversepoets.com/ where we share our thoughts and our hearts.

  11. I come back to this phrase.... I am enough ... over and over again these days. It's so good in those moments when we know it to be true in the deepest part of us! {Is your son going to be at the game tomorrow??!!} {So excited for these Red Sox!}

  12. Accepting what is rather than what isn't is so important to realize. We tend to look at what we lack rather than what is really right with our worlds. Important reminder, Ayala.

  14. Oh, nice poem!
It's wonderful to just "be" and like ourselves.
So many do not and that is very sad.
I think a lot of the problems that people face in life can relate to not being comfortable with oneself or not liking oneself.
    I really like your poem.
And thank you for the kind words on mine, it was fun to write :)
