The birds cheerfully sing,
their joy is undeniable.
They hold the answers of the universe,
while I am living the questions.
Their conversations with the world,
allow me to surrender to the unknown.
My crown is tarnished,
while theirs glimmers in the piercing
morning light.
I am happy to announce that my poetry book, Second Chances, will be published by Golden Dragonfly Press. The release date is, Tuesday May 7. All proceeds will be donated to charity.
I have missed being in this space and sharing with this community. I have been busy juggling life, and being present in the life of those that need me. I always reflect back on my journey here, and how this community has always lifted me. I am also forever grateful to my friends that shared with me how my words have resonated with them and have made them feel less alone. Thank you!
It is lovely to see you, Ayala, and I am thrilled about your book. Good for you. I adore this poem, the birds who have the answers while we have only questions. So true.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sherry.
DeleteOh, I really enjoy the cheerful singing of birds - especially now when our season of birdsong is just beginning. (Still not many, but they will be arriving.) Their conversations are wonderful to listen to. Oh, and congratulations on your new book!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mary.
DeleteI think questions is what makes us human actually... to only have answers might be peaceful though
ReplyDeleteYes...smiles
DeleteI'm with Bjorn. It's all in the seeking. Kinda makes me wonder then if paradise is being a bird free to fly enuencumbered by the weight of questions or the heaviness of answers. Congrats on the book!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteCongratulations on the upcoming publication of your poetry book, Ayala!
ReplyDeleteI really like the contrasts in this poem and agree with Bjorn and Rosemary about questions making us human.
Well, that was Rommy not me; but I don't disagree. (Smile.)
DeleteThank you!
DeleteA beautiful poem, and deep. I love especially, 'I am living the questions', the idea of surrendering to the unknown, and the last two gorgeous lines.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rosemary.
DeleteA Rainbow in the Dark!
ReplyDeleteThis is going to lodge in my head--I'm caught by the idea of a question and answer separated and requiring translation (or surrender) between states.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteA thoughtful and thought provoking piece.
ReplyDeleteAnd congratulations on the book!
Thank you, Wendy.
DeleteCongratulations on the book Ayala... wonderful to hear!
ReplyDeleteQuestions keep us going. Congrats on the release!

DeleteI can't wait to hear those birdsongs. And congrats for the publication.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Grace.
DeleteWelcome back, your voice has been missed; now the choir can fill the rafters with poetic joy. Your piece resonates strongly with me. I subscribe to the Zen notion that we have lived before, and that we spend each lifetime "in lesson"--living the questions, as it were.
ReplyDeleteI love that! Thank you, Glenn.
DeleteWonderful poem. Congratulations on the new book!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bev.
DeleteI’m so excited to hear about your book! This poem is stunning as always.

DeleteI like to think of those birds holding the answers to my questions.
ReplyDeleteSmiles....
DeleteI was just going to say what Frank said...I do believe the birds know.
ReplyDeleteThey do...
DeleteCongratulation! My best regards from Romania!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThe birds being birds without a care and the tarnished crown really struck me.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Colleen.
DeleteSo nice to see you here. I love your poem. Nature does seem to have the answers and we, who think ourselves 'smart', must follow our questions.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your book. What a nice way to give to charity.
Thank you, Myrna.
DeleteThis is lovely, Ayala. And congratulations on your book!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mary.
