The stillness

The seed sprouts into a plant,
dawn turns into a new day,
the infant grows,
and so did our love.
I did not ask you
for eternity,
I did not seek,
question,
judge,
I did not rush your love.
I took it one day at a time,
one stolen kiss,
one moment of desire,
drops of magic in the sands of time.
In the stillness of dawn
our love is sacred.
You reach for me,
our tangled feet meet,
the silence cradles us in the moment.
There are no interruptions,
or decisions to make,
or small stuff to sweat,
or words we may utter and regret.
In the stillness of dawn,
love is reborn,
like the new day.
All that was said is forgotten
and forgiven
in the stillness of dawn
we remember
how we became one.

Dedicated to my husband, he is my love and my best friend. Happy Valentine's Day to all of you. Meet us here http://dversepoets.com/ where we share our thoughts and our hearts.
