Love Is Simple

Loving you is simple
uncomplicated,
like opening my eyes
no thought invested,
only instinct.
Love is my religion
my rock,
 my roots.
Loving you is simple
like following the smell of  baked cookies
and the stars on a dark night.
Loving you is easy
even on days I question the sanity of it
even on days when my soul is defiant
and seeks to be free
but never of you.
Loving you,
it's a hunger that must be fed
it's a road I must travel on
it's a light that shows me the way.
Loving you
brings me home
makes me better
Lets me dream.

  3. smiles...lovely...gotta love it when love is that easy...a choice made and one that has such obvious rewards as well...and a compulsion too...as not to be able to think about any other kind of life but that love...

  11. This is the best kind of love, Ayala. You are fortunate to have it! Not everyone does. The last four lines say it all:

    Loving you
    brings me home
    makes me better
    Lets me dream.

    Beautiful sentiments, beautiful poem.

  17. In many ways here, Ayala, you validate (for me) what I sincerely believe. That when all is said and done...I mean FINISHED!...the only power standing will be LOVE. In fact, there will be NONE ELSE. IMO, of course!

  19. This is beautiful Ayala - and it works really well at more than one level. When you really love someone, the love itself is not something you have to work at. There are other things that take some effort though ... smiles

  29. This is so "right-on." When you get down to it, there is nothing else. And religion without love at it's center is a cruel joke.
