Joy

Dance in the flow of life,
fragments of who we were yesterday,
the joy of who we are.
You extend yourself to the universe,
you understand the plight of another.
Your words are kind with understanding,
a simple deed brings you peace.
There is a joy from within,
interpreted to many in different ways,
some find it by saving souls,
others find it in self indulgence.
Joy is simple and yet complicated,
it's sharing a bounty of fish,
it's sharing your heart with someone,
it's drifting and dreaming ocean blue,
it's home with boys I love,
their voices dancing in my soul.

  31. For only getting six words a line, you certainly make it look easy! Beautiful words, flowing out with soothing and lyrical ease - it sounds a lovely home, and one could ask for nothing more, than the sweet sweet song of family dancing through one's soul...

  34. Ayala, I have missed your beautiful words so much! I have not been in blogland as much as I wish lately because I have been buckling-down with my songwriting.

But it's food for my dancing soul to be back here.

A simple act to bring peace, so lovely, as is this whole poem.

THANK YOU for being you and sharing your wisdom and grace.

  36. Ayala,

There is a sweet sense of satin in this verse. It flows in a silky way and, yes, I agree with the others who have remarked that joy is to be shared. I love this.

it's sharing a bounty of fish,
it's sharing your heart with someone,
it's drifting and dreaming ocean blue,
it's home with boys I love,
