Surrender

Wash my feet
sweet ocean
to you I surrender.
Your lips soothing
like a lullaby
whispered to an infant.
Angels sing
and poets dream.
I am awakened
by this moment
ordinary
yet extraordinary.
My feet anchored in the sand
seashells leave a mysterious trail.
Life is here,
connected to all that came before us
and all that remains.
I inhale,
I exhale,
I surrender.

At  http://dversepoets.com/ Marina is asking us to write an ordinary thing in our life that would be easy to take for granted. Sometimes when I am out in the ocean I realize the grandeur of it all and how easy it is sometimes to forget to celebrate it.

  4. We live in a wonderland here in Western WA, hemmed in by mountain ranges, 100 miles from the coast, adjacent to the inland sea of Puget Sound, rimmed by fire mountains--& yes, every foray is golden, & for me & mine, never taken for granted; nice piece.

  5. There is nothing like the seashore to restore your spirit. This was gorgeous, ayala. And makes me miss the ocean sharply.

  6. ah, I drifted off into the ocean while reading this... then came back to reality when I went too deep and realized I don't know how to swim. smiles... this is a very peace write... there's a certain calmness in resting by waters...

  7. Wonderful how the sea can restore.. And if it's close to where you live it might be ordinary..

  8. This is my third attempt to comment!

Just beautiful - redolent of all the pleasures of the seashore.

  18. Why so serious why so complicated to simply connect to life.. i often wonder now..but no then.. when life truly is a complicated mess i view...then....

To escape to freedom.. is such a loving experience.. to no longer be trapped by the complicated mess that can be mind...language.. and culture too..

i find it in Mother Nature TRUE..YES.. my human nature freedom.. i look back..i visit.. but only stay here now..now.....as i learn my lesson well.. to never ever..really go back...:)

  25. ayala, glad you are okay. I hope there is light in your life soon. I know this time of year begins the dark for me...always hard to push through to the Spring. Sometimes just knowing it's there is a bit of a help.
