Love finds a way
across a room,
across railroad tracks.
Love finds a way
despite religion or
conventional lines
and ideas.
Love finds a way through
darkness,
through obstacles.
Love needs no explanation,
the heart wants,
the soul desires.
I will always find my shelter in your eyes,
I will find solace in your arms,
I will feel the passion rising when
I hear your voice.
Our love is not a fairytale,
it is a love story.
Our love is not a river
but an ocean.
Our love is not a branch,
but a root of an old oak tree.
We weather the storms,
we dance in the rain,
our love always finds the way.

nice....love wins....and that is true...i like the acknowledgement that it is not a fairy tale....because it is not, not always....but that is what gets sold often....if you can weather the storms together...you are def in good company...take care of that love...
ReplyDeleteNo matter the reason or rhyme, it does seem to strike its loving chime
ReplyDelete"Our love is not the branch, but the root of an old oak tree...." Wonderfully description of a strong and solid love.... Nice poem Ayala...
ReplyDeleteWhat an uplifting and substantive view of love. I particularly gravitated toward the line of love not being a fairytale, but a love story.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful love you have!
ReplyDeletea root of an old oak tree... that sounds stable... love surely finds a way where you usually not only would suspect one... beautifully penned ayala
ReplyDeleteI was strangely attracted to your first two lines - almost a hypnotic quality there, which drew me in.
ReplyDeletelovley..such truth in the last three lines..true love has the strength to dance in the good times & the stormy times..'weathers the storm'
ReplyDeleteYes, love it like that alright. Nicely put!
ReplyDeleteSo very true and beautifully expressed.
ReplyDeleteTo move the strength of love from branch to root .. from rivers to oceans ... and you are invincible... very strong and love with a fighting spirit.
ReplyDeleteIndeed...
ReplyDeleteAh, Ayala...love, the most powerful force ever, and you treat it as such in this post. Love is a Spiritual Being, revealed to us humans by actions which we can understand...like Creation (birth and love), healing, living in peace, etc.
ReplyDeleteWe can witness real love and not recognize it. As well...love can fool us, depending on motive.
Blessings!

ReplyDeleteLove indeed finds a way, but even better when love lingers and roots in our being. I too, wrote of love this week. Feeling a bit sentimental as October 3rd will be our 32nd wedding anniversary. Thanks for sharing this. Nicely done.
