In 1999, we spent a week in Paris - and it looked just like this. The museum workers were staging wildcat strikes - protesting some government proposal -- so we had to run around trying to find an open museum. But we did manage to see what we had planned to see. My favorite place was the Cluny Museum -- the Museum of the Middle Ages -- and an old church on the Left Bank right new Shakespeare & Co, bookstore. This photos bring it all back.
